Right further to my last post here is the positive review I promised from the other forum

There's a guy in the hdtv.com.pl forum who has had the PV70 for 3 days and has it connected to 2 different Polish digital satellite platforms (via HDMI) so he gets standard SD (upscaled) & also HD transmissions. DVD is connected via component.

He has compared the 42PV70 with his PV60 and his Pioneer 427 - not sure why he has 3 plasma TVs at home

He says that he has no reason to complain about the PV70 & furthermore he hasn't encountered any purple snakes to date, he doesn't agree with the fact that the PV70 is worse than the Pioneer 427, and that it is not worse but better than the PV60 in his opinion. He also says that his wife who doesn't really pay much attention to the quality of transmissions noticed that colours & the quality of the transmission on the whole were better on the PV70. He also mentions that the retailer even had to admit that the PV70 performed just as well if not better when compared to the Pioneer 427.

He goes on to say that the PV60 did not perform as well with the above mentioned satellite platforms via HDMI & that the Pioneer performed just as well but no better than the PV70. The setting he used on the PV70 for his test was 'normal' & not the 'dynamic' setting.

He says that in general when watching the Poland - Azerbajan football match in upscaled SD on Polish TVP 2 (equivalent to BBC 2) it wasn't brilliant on either the PV60, PV70 or PDP-427, more watchable on a CRT in his opinion.

He conducted all the tests at home. He did not conduct any tests from a normal analogue roof-top aerial.

On a final note he says that he does not understand why the thread in the forum has so many negative comments about the TV. He also compared the PV70 to other sets on display at a major electrical retailer with the same feed and says that the PV70 was the best out of all of them in terms of picture quality.

He also says that he does not sell these TV units & that the retailer told him he could return the PV70 within 7 days for any reason.

He says that for the price this is a good TV. Maximum RRP in Poland as given on the Panasonic Poland website is approximately £1060 for the 42PX70PED with pedestal (though seen price as low as approx. £825) & you get 24 months manufacturer's warranty over there.

Just to clarify again the PV70 is the same as the PX70 but comes without a digital terrestrial tuner

Jeg har lest på et annet forum at det var en mann på et tysk forum som hadde lest på et sveitsisk forum at det var en mann i Bulgaria som hadde hørt om en tyrker som hadde 9 plasmaer og han mente at Pio'en var best. he,he,he.
